Ricky Joy recalled about 2.3 million Sour Crush rolling liquid candy bottles. Learn which flavors are affected, what to do, and how to request a refund.

Ricky Joy recalled about 2.3 million Sour Crush Rolling Liquid Candy bottles on September 10, 2026, after the rollerball on top was found capable of detaching from the container. If the loose ball reaches a child’s mouth, it can create a serious choking hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says consumers should stop using the candy immediately, take it away from children, and contact The Ricky Joy Company for a refund. No injuries or incidents had been reported in the recall notice.
This is a U.S. recall announced by the CPSC. The notice lists sales through U.S. retailers and online stores from January 2023 through May 2026.

Check your candy cabinet, children’s treat collection, party supplies, and online orders for Ricky Joy Sour Crush rolling liquid candy. The recalled bottles have a rollerball applicator and contain 1.85 fluid ounces of sour liquid candy.

The candy was sold at H-E-B, Forman Mills, other candy stores, and online through Walmart.com, CandyFunHouse.com, RickyJoy.com, and other retailers. Individual bottles generally sold for about $3, while three- and 12-packs sold for approximately $13 to $32.
Do not let anyone use the bottle, even if the rollerball appears secure. Put it somewhere children cannot reach while you prepare the return. Do not give it away, sell it, or return it to a store unless Ricky Joy specifically instructs you to do so.
Ricky Joy says the registration process requires product photographs to validate eligibility and issue a prepaid shipping label. If you bought a multi-pack, include every recalled unit you are returning in the same package or box and report the number of units accurately.
The company’s recall program lists different refund amounts depending on the product’s condition:
The product should be returned complete, including the cap and all labels. Ricky Joy says refunds are issued after the returned candy is received and verified. The company’s registration page says a prepaid shipping label should arrive by email within two to three business days after registration.
Do not send the candy back to a retail store. The recall instructions say to use the prepaid label supplied by Ricky Joy and return the product directly to the company.
You may still be able to register a claim if you have the individual bottle. The company’s form asks for the flavor, number of units, condition, and photos showing the label and cap, including the lot number and expiration date.
If you have several bottles from a multi-pack, count the individual units rather than treating the pack as one item. Keep the bottles together until Ricky Joy provides return instructions. If you cannot read the label, do not guess; select the option indicating that you are unsure and provide the clearest photos available.
Ricky Joy says it will email a prepaid shipping label to eligible consumers. Pack the recalled units, attach the label to the outside of the box, and drop the package at a carrier location. The refund will be issued after the company receives and verifies the products.
For questions about a claim, the recall notice lists Ricky Joy’s phone number as 404-975-0352. The company’s recall information also lists recall@rickyjoy.com as a contact email. Phone support is listed as available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
Look beyond the kitchen. Novelty candy bottles may have been stored in backpacks, party-favor bins, classroom reward supplies, or children’s bedrooms. Ask anyone who regularly buys treats for your household whether they purchased Sour Crush bottles during the affected sales period.
If a child may have swallowed the rollerball or is showing signs of choking, seek emergency medical help immediately. The recall is based on the potential hazard, not on a requirement that the ball must already be loose.
